RÍO GRANDE (ESPAÑOL)
Desde 1889, la ciudad lleva el nombre de Río Grande, debido a que esta ubicada en la margen del Río Grande. Los selk’nam U Onas, la reconocían como el “corazón de la tierra Ona”.
En su norte, se sitúa el Estrecho de Magallanes. En tanto, la ciudad se encuentra emplazada en el paralelo de latitud sur 54° 11′ 18.769″.
Allí, residen unas 78.614 personas, (según datos del INDEC del Censo Nacional 2015).
El clima se caracteriza por ser frío durante todo el año, debido a la inmediata influencia oceánica, la escasa altitud y los constantes vientos que en verano, suele superar los 100 km/h y su temperatura promedio es de 11°C, mientras que en invierno, también puede superar los
-6°C.
El 5 de febrero de 2019 se registró la máxima histórica de 30,8 °. 7. Mientras que en invierno, la temperatura superó los -10°C. No obstante, la acumulación de nieve es poco abundante y de corta duración.
La ciudad del norte de Tierra del Fuego, fue declarada “capital nacional de la trucha” y por ello, miles de turistas argentinos y de diferentes lugares del mundo, la elijen para realizar la actividad de la pesca deportiva.

Since 1889, this city has been named Río Grande, because it is located on the Río Grande sideline. Selk’nams or Onas knew it as “Onas’ land’s heart.” On the northen side of this city, it is located the Magellan Strait and its southern latitude is 54°11’18.769″. There, the population is 78,614, as 2015 I.N.D.E.C. census informed.
The weather in Río Grande is characterized by being cold throughout the year, due the constant ocean influence, the low heights and the strong winds that, in summer, can reach the 100 km/h, and an average temperature of 11°C or 51,8°F, meanwhile in winter can overcome -6°C or 21,2°F. On February 5th, 2019, it reached an historical mark in weather of 30,8°C (87,44°F) and in winter it surpassed -10°C (14°F). On despite of this, snow accumulation was short and not really plenty.
This city was recognized as the “Trout’s National Capital City” and, because of this, a thousand argentine tourists and people from all around the world choose it as a perfect place to practice sport fishing.
